Abstract

In electrostatic sensitivity experiments for pyrotechnic materials, the standard deviation obtained by the Dixon's method was discussed. It has been shown that the standard deviation obtained in our electrostatic sensitivity experiments with the test levels of the logarithms of the energies stored in capacitor, ranged almost from 0.1 to 0.3, and there scarcely happened over 0.5 or below 0.05. It has been also shown that the standard deviations changed regularly or in some intervals between 0.05 and 0.5, depending on materials used and experimental conditions. It is suggested from this fact that the suitability of electrostatic sensitivity experiments could be estimated by the standard deviation.
